My name is Brenda Buck, and I am the very proud principal of our newly consolidated preK-6 grade school. This unique opportunity to serve the compassionate and forward-moving community of Sedona and Village of Oak Creek is truly a gift. I have had the great fortune of serving 7 years in California as a music educator and an additional 10 years in Arizona in the Deer Valley Unified School District and the Dysart Unified School District. I have been in roles such as music educator, data specialist, school site administrator, and district level leader. Before becoming an educator, I lived in Tenerife, Spain, for 3 years, and prior to that I was a freelance French horn player and instructor. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Music Education from University of California at Los Angeles, my Master of Arts in Education Administration from Grand Canyon University, and am currently pursuing my Doctorate of Education in Organizational Leadership from Grand Canyon University. I bring with me experience in systems creation and deployment, strategic and intentional planning, a continuous improvement mindset, passion for learning, and a huge heart for the safety and growth of all children. Above all, I believe in family first and am blessed to have the incredible support of my fiance Rich and amazing son Nakotah.
Our school-wide focus will be centered on the whole child through an intentional focus on body, heart, and mind. We are excited to be one of the two AZ schools that is STEM accredited and will continue STEM with excellence. With your partnership, I know we will continue to make a difference by reaching extraordinary levels of success. There are no limits. I look forward to an exciting year!
