Welcome to West Sedona School!  My name is Elizabeth Tavasci, and I am the Principal of this wonderful school!  I'm overjoyed to serve a school community that I truly adore. We have amazing teachers, dedicated staff, incredible families, and the most wonderful students!  West Sedona School has a bright future ahead, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to be a part of it. 

The 2023-2024 school year marks my 17th year in education and my seventh year as a WSS Wildcat.  Over my years in education, I have enjoyed serving as a Title 1 Reading Specialist, PreK Special Education Teacher, SEI 1st/2nd Grade Teacher, Administrative Designee, Kindergarten Teacher, 1st/2nd multiage Teacher, and a Mentor Teacher.  

Prior to working at West Sedona School, I lived and taught in Phoenix, Arizona.  I grew up in California and moved to Arizona to attend Northern Arizona University; and later, Arizona State University.  My husband and I moved to the Cottonwood/Sedona area nearly six years ago.  We have been together for over 13 years and met while watching fireworks on the 4th of July.  We have two dogs, Charley and Oliver, who keep us busy at home.  When I’m not at school, I love spending time with my family and friends, hiking and enjoying our beautiful corner of the world, cooking, reading, watching shows that make me laugh, and learning!  I believe passionately in the power of kindness, love, and gratitude.
