Red Rock Academy

Red Rock Academy provides an alternative education environment for students who may benefit from a nontraditional school setting. Our program focuses on individualized learning and flexible scheduling while still providing support to help students achieve their educational goals.

Program Philosophy

We believe every student deserves the opportunity to succeed. Red Rock Academy offers a second chance for returning students to earn their high school diploma while developing the academic, social, and life skills necessary for post-secondary success. We are also dedicated to meeting temporary or situational needs of Sedona Red Rock High School students who may need distance learning to stay on track for graduation.

Program Features

Individualized Learning Plans
Online instruction is offered using Schools PLP (Personalized Learning Platform) to offer a variety of course choices toward meeting all Arizona graduation requirements.

Flexible Scheduling
Red Rock Academy is a year-round school that does not follow the traditional school calendar. Students continue their work through the summer. Students can access the Personalized Learning Platform 24/7 for an independent study opportunity that accommodates health, work, or family needs.

Credit Recovery
Students can earn credits needed for graduation in the event that a past course credit was unearned due to insufficient attendance or course failure. Students may complete PLP courses in addition to their in-person schedules while enrolled full-time at Sedona Red Rock High School.

Support Services
School counseling services, career guidance, and college preparation support help students develop plans for their future beyond high school.

Eligibility
Red Rock Academy serves students who have previously attended Sedona Red Rock High School and students who plan to enroll but are awaiting the beginning of the next full term. Students may be referred to Red Rock Academy via school counselor recommendation or administrative placement if currently attending SRRHS. Please call the District’s Director of Online Instruction for additional information.
